Denise Lane

As most members will know, I am the “Happy Hacker” on the British Reining council! I have been riding since the age of seven, and living on the outskirts of London, by the age of 8, I was negotiating my position and that of my riding school pony on main roads between large red busses and taxis.

I have never competed, nor had any inclination to compete, in any riding discipline . I simply love horses and being with them – I often bring my horse along to shows and go for a hack in the surrounding countryside. I am interested in natural horsemanship and have found that this approach to training links well with the western style of riding.

As well as being Membership Secretary, I have developed the B.R. Merchandise brand and have also taken a large part in the development of the website. I also try to keep members up to date by email, about forthcoming events and developments. Most people know my face as I am usually on the BR trailer, when I am not working as the unpaid groom for my husband or cheering him on from the sidelines – usually with a large cream fluffy dog!

Peter and I run our own Estate Agency business, although I am now officially retired. We have three daughters and six grandchildren, so please excuse any delays with some of my “member’s updates” as it is not easy to type with a two year old “helping” by pressing all available buttons on the computer and printer!.

Please feel free to contact me via the website if you would like to ask me any questions regarding membership.
